Most profiles have built in, by default a facing finish, that forces the facing tool to always make two facing passes, similar to the below patern:
This repeated movement is often not needed for straight tool paths or with a low depth.
For this reason the option, located on the machining tab, under the path section was added:
Where the user value can be between 0 (option disabled – default behaviour) and 5mm. This value means that if the tool path depth is less than the specified value, only the finish pass will be performed, and the roughing will not be made. Taking in consideration the same profile as before, this results in just the finish pass:
In the below example, that was obtained with the same setting of 3mm, two passes were still made, because the depth of the tool path is higher than 3mm.
