This restriction added in version 5.4.6.2 (September 2024) allows the operator to discard a tool based on the cross section size of the material. This restriction is particularly useful on machines with linear tool posts where tools are placed closely to each other, and where the cross section of the material, if larger than a certain amount could mean a collision.
Therefore if the material cross section exceeds a determined amount – user set – the tool is not accepted, and therefor discarded for the current operation.
