From version 5.2.4.6 (06 January 2022) the cutting limit screen for the group of tools 22 (spring rotary groove) was changed as the tool dimension was not taken in consideration as it should (previous versions used the tool blade width, that did not reflected the physical shape of the tool).
Before v5.2.4.6 and after
Showing the cutting limits for offset 9 as an example:
As can be seen the “tool width” setting was removed from the older version.
Now, the correct setting to provide the software the size of the tool (so that the software calculates if the tool fits on the seals being made) is the “tool dimension” that before was not taken in consideration.
This setting is the responsible to determine if the tool fits on several seals that require a spring, and therefore is part of the algorithm to determine the suitability of a tool (radius, length, … are also taken in consideration for spring grooves).
This setting is taken in consideration, for example in:
As always the default machine contains the recommended settings for all tools, so you might want to check what settings are present there.
This makes sense. Thanks.
