Settings that change the profiles browsing are present on this page.
Show hidden profiles on the browser (profiles menu): Version 5.4.0.0 and up have the ability to hide profiles. If this option is enable, even if hidden the profiles can be accessed. This is intended to be used by a user with permissions to re enable profiles that were hidden before.
